Dating back to the summer of 1999, the members of Flatline have thrown every piece of their hearts into creating and performing music that drives minds deep into
It's soul. Music full of ideas that question some of life's most troublesome and intriguing encounters.
Inspired by great bands before them, guitarist, Jordan, and drummer, Jake, have been in and out of many of their own bands whose lack of commitment had brought their sound's life to a quick end.
The future looked dim until one Thursday night, at a bowling alley, the subject of bands arose with bassist, Derek. Derek had known of his father being in a band, so there was only one thing he could say when he heard that Jake and Jordan were looking for a bassist, "My dad has a bass." That was a major turning point.
From then on, Jordan began teaching Derek how to play; and with much determination, he never really put the bass down. Derek started learning independently, playing cover songs from other bands, or whatever he could get a hold of. Bringing what Derek learned to the practices roughly twice a week, word spread that the three of them had started a band and one of the first people to hear was future-singer, John. John was quickly introduced and intrigued to sing a song or two. Before the four knew it they were hooked on playing music.
Hence, Flatline has released a five-song demo, a four-song EP and are currently working on a full-length
album. Through
inspirations, intentions and dreams fueling their determination, Flatline is committed to passing words of purpose into the souls of their listeners in hopes of reaching out to, and connecting with, a generation filled with senses of loss, hate and sadness.
Time leads us all into darkness where most are blinded, but it is in this darkness that we will shine.
